Washington Democrats Choose April for Precinct Caucuses

If there was ever any clear indication that 1) Washington Democrats have no intention of using the Evergreen state's presidential primary as a means of allocating delegates and 2) that bills to cancel the primary for 2012 will ultimately pass, this is it. The Washington Democratic Party has made available a draft of their 2012 delegate selection plan and it includes no mention of the presidential primary -- whether it will exist in 2012 or not. The first determining step in the delegate allocation process for Democrats in Washington state will be the precinct caucuses on April 7.

That first weekend in April is filling up with Democratic caucuses. Hawaii and Wyoming Democrats have already indicated in their delegate selection plans their intentions to hold caucuses on that date as well.
